The Story
Carel came to Christ at the age of 14 and met Helen at University where they commenced their walk with God as a couple. In 1998 they left South Africa with three small children to set up home in Sydney. Here they were embraced by a wonderful church family that helped them settle and supported them in raising their children. Both have been active in their local church, served at beach mission, facilitated retreat groups and in leading connect groups.
Carel and Helen studied and worked in the field of Human Resources Management across different industries and countries bringing Christ into the workplace and lecture rooms. After serving within The Salvation Army, Carel has been praying and seeking an opportunity for them to serve in the mission field with their God given capabilities and experience.
MAF International provides a unique opportunity for Carel to serve as Human Resources Director based in Cairns. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team and in leading the Human Resources team he will deliver people and culture strategies for staff and organisational development.
