Deputy Director of Operations/Pilot, Guinea

The country of Guinea became independent from France over 60 years ago and is one of the least developed countries in the world. The Ebola epidemic had a devastating impact on the country, along with poor infrastructure, a growing population and a fragile democracy.

Recently we have extended our work into Guinea where we hope we can provide much-needed safe and reliable air transport for organisations working in remote locations providing water and sanitation, primary health care and HIV prevention, agricultural development and food security, and the development of sustainable livelihoods.

We are looking for a Deputy Director of Operations/Pilot to join the team and help to continue to develop the work that has just started in Guinea. You will need experience in managing commercial air transport operations.

Responsibilities
You will be responsible to ensure:

the safe and efficient use of MAF aircrew and aircraft
that aircraft are operated in accordance with applicable standards, legislation, and safety policies
support is given for the effective performance, development and training of the MAF flight operations team
effective and efficient use of resources
that leadership and care is given to the MAF team
good partnerships are developed with service providers
professional aviation service is given to customers

The role requires you to have excellent communication skills both verbal and written, paying particular attention to the information given down the line of process.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Essential:

Secondary school completion certificate
FAA Commerical Pilots Licence or ATPL
3 years experience in managementof commercial air transport organisation
3 years experience as PIC in commercial air transport operations in the last 6 years
Excellent communication skills
