Area Head of Maintenance – Kenya

Mission Aviation Fellowship is an international Christian organisation whose purpose is to bring help, hope and healing through aviation to people living in isolation and poverty.

MAF has been working in Kenya for many years, and although a popular tourist destination with a large economy this can hide the poverty and isolation that still remains. Kenya is also a place of refuge for people from many other war torn countries.

MAF enables the transportation of church groups, medical specialists and education support, etc through their flights to some of the most remote areas of Kenya.

We are now looking for a Area Head of Maintenance in our Kenya program, with the responsibility to provide Maintenance Control support to MAF Tanzania, MAF South Sudan and MAF Chad.

Responsibilities
The Area Head of Maintenance will provide oversight and management for MAF Kenya Maintenance Control including management and oversight of technical records and the Technical Records officer. They will also provide Maintenance Control support to MAF Tanzania and MAF Chad.

The successful candidate will ensure all required maintenance (scheduled and unscheduled), all Airworthiness Directives, mandatory and cost effective modifications are accomplished in a timely manner and to an approved standard. They will ensure that a Certificate of Release to Service is issued after inspection, maintenance or defect rectification. Keeping all aircraft and program documentation up-to-date and compliant with all manuals, and continually improving and seeking opportunities the Quality and Safety Management Systems. They will also organise visits to Chad, Tanzania and South Sudan to liaise with their Operations staff.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essentials:

EASA or equivalent Maintenance Engineer Licence with appropriate type ratings
Secondary School Completion Certificate
Aptitude in verbal, numerical, abstract and mechanical reasoning
Three years experience maintaining fixed wing aircraft including at least one year certifying aircraft for release to service
Experience in tracking and scheduling maintenance tasks
Ability to make decisions based on values driven framework, particularly when resolving conflicting priorities
Good communication skills across both geographical and cultural boundaries
Excellent written and spoken English
Computer literate
Desirable:

KCAA License in any category
