Thank you for your ongoing generous support of the work of MAF.
Because of you, lives continue to be changed. Your generosity reaches some of the world’s most isolated communities, bringing help, hope and healing where it’s needed most. Check out three inspiring stories from our PNG team below and find out how you can get more involved with MAF in 2025.
Thank you for making a difference!

For 54 years, Pokome Newa has dedicated her life to bringing healthcare to isolated communities in PNG, often relying on MAF to reach those in need. Through perseverance and faith, she overcame early challenges with literacy, trained as a health worker and saved countless lives – even walking 40km during a crisis to secure medicine. Looking back on her journey, Pokome credits MAF’s support and God’s guidance for enabling her to serve.
Thanks to a MAF medevac flight, a domestic violence survivor received urgent medical care in time, preventing the amputation of her leg and giving her a chance to heal and rebuild her life.

During a transformative flight to Simbai, communications intern Anthony Nawi witnessed firsthand how MAF serves as a vital lifeline for remote communities, providing crucial access to transport, healthcare and connection.
Meeting locals who rely on MAF’s services, including a mother returning home with her infant, deepened his understanding of the organisation’s impact beyond aviation. This experience reshaped his perspective—MAF is not just about flying; it is about changing lives and bringing hope to those in the most isolated places.
How to Get More Involved in MAF
Embark with MAF in 2025
MAF is facing a critical shortage of aircraft engineers, and we need them to keep our planes flying safely. Without skilled engineers, our aircraft can’t operate at full capacity—resulting in fewer medical evacuations, fewer essential supply deliveries, and fewer opportunities to reach isolated communities with help, hope and healing.
If you or someone you know is an aircraft engineer, please consider joining MAF or sharing this opportunity. These skills could make a life-changing impact!
