MAF Pilot Brad Venter was preparing for a a full day's program when he was alerted to a medevac need in Goroka, PNG. A women  retained placenta after giving birth and was in critical need of medical attention.

On landing, the people in the village brought her to the aircraft on a well-made bamboo stretcher. While I loaded her into the aircraft, Sarah was able to do another airstrip survey.

Rest of story if we think it appropriate.

This is fast becoming an urgent need for the team in PNG. The old systems in the two aircraft are increasingly obsolete and are a source of significant challenges in maintenance and certification.

We urgently need to raise at least $150,000AUD, which is the cost required to refurbish one aircraft.

Your tax-deductible gift today will help us continue reaching remote communities in PNG with medical care, emergency aid, critical resources and Christian hope.

HELP FUND EMERGENCY
MEDEVAC FLIGHTS IN TIMOR-LESTE

GIVE TODAY

For many living in isolated communities, the only way to receive medical care when an emergency arises is through a MAF medevac (medical evacuation flights).

Since 2007, MAF has served as the only aero-medical transport option in Timor-Leste, carrying out over 4,000 life-saving medevacs in regions isolated by bodies of water, steep mountains and dangerous dirt roads.

This year, we are aiming to raise $125,000 to continue making these critical medevac flights across Timor-Leste possible.

Would you consider making a tax deductible donation towards this life-saving service?

How did we end up here?

In 2003, the maintenance base moved from Ballarat to Mareeba to create much-needed efficiency.

A temporary hangar was privately leased at Mareeba Aerodrome to help the team get started.
It wasn’t an ideal space - but it would do until something more permanent was found.

18 years later the team are still in that same hangar!

We have long since outgrown it and it is impeding our ability to operate. As MAF Engineer Phil Snell puts it: “It is physically stopping us from doing the work that we need to do... it’s like a game of Tetris sometimes.”

This picture shares the story of a medevac flight for a mother and her sick three-month-old baby in Timor-Leste. The child, suffering from bronchitis and breathing difficulties was in need of urgent medical care. The quick MAF flight replaced hours on foot - meaning that the mother and child were able to reach the hospital just in time.

Your support today will help keep these life-saving flights in the air, making more stories like this possible. Thank you!

A worker who has been critically injured in an accident

A child suffering from an acute illness or disease

For the past 75 years MAF has flourished because supporters ‘at home’ have been connected to the work being done in remote communities through storytelling. Images, videos, written and audio content have shared the life-changing impact that supporters are having around the world each day.

To continue sharing these stories, we are prayerfully aiming to raise $290,000 AUD to fund the salaries, training, & equipment for 5 local in-program MAF
Communication Officer positions
 for 2022.

Your tax-deductible donation today will help us fill these positions, enabling us to bless five local men and women with the gift of employment in the new year.

Would you prayerfully consider partnering with us to meet this urgent need?
