MAF Cargo – the Word of God
In some of the most remote and hard-to-reach places on earth, access to a Bible can be nearly impossible. That’s where MAF steps in, using planes to deliver God’s Word to those who need it most. Whether it’s soaring over dense jungles, crossing vast deserts, or navigating rugged mountains, MAF pilots are on a mission to bring hope and transformation through the gift of Scripture. These deliveries aren’t just about providing a book—they’re about connecting people to the life-changing message of God’s love, even in the most isolated corners of the world.
Amid a backdrop of issues that many schools in Papua New Guinea experience, MAF is inspiring change by getting Bibles into the hands of teenagers. A team from MAF Technologies, based in Goroka, recently delivered 2000 Bibles to Ginitoka High School (pictured above) in Eastern Highlands Province and 1000 to Asaroka Lutheran Secondary School. Praise the Lord!
Pictured above, our Merauke national staff in Papua, Indonesia, stand with 2,000 New Testaments in the Auyu language, which amounts to 3,968 pounds. The next photo is Wycliffe missionary Myo-Sook, who has been serving in Kotiak for 20 years, giving her life to this work. MAF’s floatplane delivered these Bibles and then people and food for the recent dedication ceremony in Kotiak.
Myo-Sook says that she and mother-tongue translators, Yulius Binu and Paskalis Gerbahagi, “are very grateful to be a part of God’s project.” And she adds, “MAF is a big part of His project for the Auyu people. Thank you for serving Auyu together till this time!”
We thank God for our national staff who helped with the Auyu New Testaments. Thank you to all our supporters who continually pray and give so that MAF flights can propel Bible translations forward in the heart languages of isolated communities of the world.
Goroka, Papua New Guinea based MAF Pilot Andy Symmonds, with his wife Helen, share of recent flights that Andy completed:
“Late last year Andy had the privilege of delivering the first batch of not just newly printed, but newly translated, New Testaments to Owena, a remote village in Eastern Highlands Province (pictured above). Independent Baptist missionaries, Lewis and Judy Young, have been based at Owena for many years and one of their latest projects is an updated Tok Pisin version of the New Testament. This first print run was funded and facilitated by the Bible and Literature Missionary Foundation in the U.S.
We were delighted to provide transport for the final leg of the journey from Goroka to Owena. Please pray these New Testaments will get into the hands of people who will read, consider and believe the message of good news.”
Pictured above is a team from KuLIT and Wycliffe Timor-Leste flying with MAF to deliver the Bible book of Ruth in the Mambae translation to the Christian community in Same.
Pastor Carlos Marcal says:
‘We thank God that we are able to finalise the Bible book of Ruth in Mambae translation, and this is the first ever Bible translation in Mambae dialect. We hope that we will be able to translate the Book of Mark soon, so that people can read the Gospel in their mother tongue.’
And we thank God that we were able to deliver this life changing cargo.
