Mission Experience Placement, PNG
Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is an organisation using light aircraft to deliver help, hope and healing through aviation in over 30 developing countries. For over 75 years, MAF has been transporting patients, relief workers, produce and medical supplies to the world’s remotest regions and places of deepest human need – places where flying is not a luxury but a lifeline.
Since 1951, MAF’s continuous operations in Papua New Guinea have provided essential air transport to isolated communities located in some of the most rugged terrain in the world. Today, MAF is the longest serving aviation operator in PNG, with international standards of safety, flight operations and aircraft maintenance.
With our fleet we overcome physical barriers that prevent people in the remote areas of Papua New Guinea from having access to healthcare, education, safe water and the Gospel. We serve local communities, local church groups, missionaries, NGOs, development and relief agencies, and government departments who are working to change the lives of those living in remote areas.
MAF has a number of opportunities for people to gain experience in a mission placement. Aside from helping you understand MAF’s mandate and what it’s like to live in a program, it will also enhance your knowledge and experience with relevant work assignments that can help you prepare for your future career in missions.
The primary purpose of MAF International’s Mission Experience Placement scheme is to provide those contemplating a career in missions, with an opportunity to experience life in an overseas program environment, and to explore whether God is calling them into long-term Christian mission work.
