Maintenance Operations Supervisor, Arnhem Land

For more than 75 years, MAF has been transporting patients, relief workers, produce and medical supplies to the world’s remotest regions and places of deepest human need – places where flying is not a luxury but a lifeline.
As the Maintenance Operations Supervisor – Arnhem Land, you will be part of the Technical Operations team and responsible for leading and managing, aircraft maintenance staff, local facilities and equipment to maximise the availability of assets for the mission by ensuring effective and efficient maintenance practices in accordance with organisational and regulatory procedures.
While intended as a Program role, it is likely that some travel will be included to support other MAFI programs.
Responsibilities
In this role you will lead and manage aircraft maintenance staff by fostering an environment of teamwork, accountability, and efficiency, to deliver to specification within the agreed schedule and budget. Demonstrating and encouraging good communication is essential for the role to ensure that team members have a good working understanding of relevant MAF procedures, requirements, safety standards and an enhanced team spirit.
You will assist in the management of maintenance department facilities and equipment by ensuring that the hangars and all aircraft support equipment are maintained, ensuring that all tools are functional and the facilities are secure and clean. You will have a strategic mindset as you support the Head of Maintenance with plans and budgets.
By ensuring compliance with organisational and regulatory requirements, you will confirm that all maintenance is done in compliance with MAF, national and international aviation maintenance standards, actively participating in the Quality and Safety Management System and working with the Local Safety Representative and HOM, to ensure that staff adhere to MAF Commitment to Safety and local OH&S regulations.
The role also requires you to participate in workload review and planning in conjunction with the Maintenance planner and Head of Maintenance.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential Requirements
Current aircraft maintenance engineering licence with applicable ratings
Ability to make decisions based on a values-driven framework when resolving conflicting priorities
Excellent team communication skills
Computer literate and company systems literate e.g. WASP, Mantis
Working Knowledge of company engineering procedures and practices
At least five years of aircraft maintenance experience
At least 12 months working with MAF International
Ability to lead and direct others by example
