Ron’s record attempt
After months of preparation, the day has finally arrived!
Tomorrow morning, at Parkes airport in NSW, 64-year-old Ron Watts will attempt to break the record for the most flights performed in one day. He’s aiming for 140.
The reason Ron is doing this is to raise money for a much need second aircraft for Timor-Leste.
With the withdrawal of the UN troops in Dec 2012, Timor-Leste has been left with one plane. One plane for 1.1 million people! And it seats 8.
We have a unique opportunity to send a second plane to Timor for a fraction of the price – and we are willing to do just about anything to get it there.
The cost of the plane is $500,000 – which is a saving of $200,000.
We’re already 66% of the way there! We’d love for you to help us send that next plane over to Timor-Leste.
