Activity Report – Well Drilling Project in Mali

Year 2025 – Water and Life in Jesus Christ

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chron 5:14

In several remote villages of Mali, the year 2025 was marked by a profound transformation. Not only did clean water reach places that were desperately in need of it, but it was accompanied by an even more essential message: Eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true Help, Hope and Healing.

Through this project, dedicated pastors and workers did more than dig into the earth—they planted the Word in hearts.

The Water that Quenches… and the One that Saves

The villages of Bouanidiè, Djidièni, Yassabougou, and Sayombougou witnessed a shared miracle: where water was scarce, it now flows; where hope had dried up, faith blossomed.

Despite the difficult terrain—hard rock and soft earth—the team, supported by young villagers and disciple makers, managed to access clean water.

This breakthrough also created a powerful environment for evangelism. The village, previously facing severe water scarcity, celebrated daily as fresh water flowed. The mayor personally visited, expressing deep gratitude with gifts. New construction projects began, and the Gospel found open hearts, solidifying social cohesion within the community.

Traditional wells often dried out or became dangerous and unsanitary due to wooden structures that collapsed over time. Our new cement-based wells brought not just clean water but also safety, dignity for sustainable development. People were deeply touched by the technical quality and the spirit in which the work was done.

In each of these places, local pastors played a central role. Not only did they support the work, but they also lovingly shared the Gospel. Each shovel of dirt was followed by a word of truth; each drop of water, a promise of Hope.

Pastors as Bearers of Water and Life

Like Jesus with the Samaritan woman, pastors could say to the people: “Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst…” (John 4:14)

The wells have become places of gathering, healing, and proclamation. Around them, people joined for film screenings, prayer meetings, and discussions. Thus, physical water opened the way to spiritual thirst.

Tangible Results

The 2025 well-drilling campaign in Mali yielded far-reaching, life-transforming results—both physically and spiritually. Over the course of the project, four deep and durable wells were successfully completed in remote villages facing chronic water scarcity. These new sources of clean, safe drinking water have drastically improved public health by reducing waterborne illnesses and lowering the risk of disease during the rainy season, when traditional wells typically become contaminated.

More importantly, the presence of water created a space for spiritual revival. As people gathered around the wells, they also opened their hearts to the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. Over 4,000 individuals had the opportunity to hear the Gospel through night-time film projections, preaching, and one-on-one conversations. As a direct result, seven individuals made a public confession of faith, while many more were visibly moved and are now being followed up by local pastors.

The initiative also triggered community development and cohesion: villages began new housing projects, and multiple parcels of land were donated by local chiefs for the construction of future churches—an expression of deep gratitude and openness to the Gospel. In all, the wells became not only sources of physical water, but symbols of hope, unity, and spiritual awakening, drawing entire communities closer to both one another and to God.

A Continuing Mission

Each well is more than a water source—it is a starting point for a new life. It is where the Gospel takes root. It is where pastors continue their ministry, demonstrating that Jesus is the true source of living water.

Through prayer, support, and encouragement , lives are being transformed—not just for today, but for eternity.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6)
