Mother's Day 2025

In the remote communities of Papua New Guinea, something truly transformative is unfolding. For many girls and women, managing their menstrual cycle has long meant missing school, falling behind, and losing hope, all because they lacked access to basic menstrual products. But when Siobhain Cole, living in Telefomin with her husband, MAF pilot Ryan Cole, witnessed this challenge firsthand, she decided to take action.
Together with a group of passionate friends, Siobhain launched an initiative to provide girls at the local Telefomin high school with reusable menstrual kits and essential education. Starting with the year 12 students, the program quickly expanded to include every girl and woman at the school. Each kit lasts up to three years and can save the recipient hundreds of dollars, an invaluable gift in remote areas where resources are limited.
“They have big exams that shape their future. We wanted to ease at least one burden,” Siobhain shares.
The results have been powerful, girls are staying in school, gaining confidence, and looking ahead to brighter futures. This initiative is not just about health; it’s about hope, dignity, and opportunity.
We have joined a partnership with Days for Girls Australia with the aim to distribute at least 500 packs every year. With your support, we can achieve this and continue to grow the life-changing work, reaching even more girls and women across Papua New Guinea.
Join us in expanding this mission, empowering futures, through the distribution of one kit at a time.
