The Story
MISSION AVIATION FELLOWSHIP – SOUTH SUDAN – Finding suitable land for a new Compound – Korok II
MAF currently owns one compound with 13 houses in Korok, on the South Western edge of Juba town. We also rent a second property from the Episcopal Church in South Sudan.
On this property we have another 10 houses and several workshops along with parking for our vehicles.
The lease agreement with the Episcopal Church for this compound came to an end in May 2023, however we have now been able to extend this until May 2028 with any further extensions unlikely. Therefore, we have spent the past 4 years identifying a new plot of land close to our existing housing compound at Korok to provide additional staff houses, workshops and a school to cover our future accommodation needs.
In June 2024 we finalised the agreement for the purchase of the land and we have now begun fundraising towards the cost of this land and housing with the hope that construction will begin in 2025.
