The Story
God led Andy, Mif and Theo from Melbourne, to Arnhem Land, to PNG; to use aeroplanes to bring His hope and love to people in far-flung places. In the midst of participating in an incredible team to do just that, God unexpectedly called us to a new role in that same team – to become the Chief Flight Instructor (CFI) at the MAF Training Centre. So the whole family (including Annabelle and Edyn now), packed their bags and headed to Mareeba.
The Training Centre exists to train pilots as they enter service with MAF, current MAF pilots to upgrade their skills, and brand new pilots with a desire to serve with MAF in the future. In addition we intend to provide flight training opportunities to indigenous people from PNG, Australia and other MAF countries.
Looking ahead we see so many opportunities to walk alongside pilots and their families as they train. We’re excited about growing a training culture at Mareeba that is passionate about finding out what pleases the Lord, and equipping them to follow Him wherever he takes them.
