Transforming lives at the edges of the world
For centuries, the Yali people of Holuwan in remote Papua, Indonesia, lived in isolation. Rugged mountains cut them off from medical support or services of any kind.
But one day, over 50 years ago, everything changed. A MAF plane circled high overhead.
“We didn’t know anything about the outer world. We had never seen an aeroplane!” says one elder. “I still remember the day when the first missionaries arrived here. It made a big impact.”
Along with medicine and other vital services, those first MAF planes brought the light of the Gospel and hundreds of lives were transformed.
