“The amphibious plane will enable MAF to provide safe and efficient access to communities living near waterways or on islands that do not have access to rural airstrips, and deliver help, hope and healing in partnership with churches, missions and government agencies.”
– Stephen Charlesworth, Director of Strategic Development, MAF

An amphibious plane means
life-changing hope for the people of Lake Murray, PNG.
Imagine carrying temperature-sensitive medicines across a vast lake, for many hours in the tropical sun, in a tiny canoe. Currently this is the only way to reach the small village on Lake Murray that needs them.
However, MAF has preparations underway to launch the special P2-WET amphibious plane. This would mean that remote communities could be reached within a 20-minute flight.
This Christmas, you can help fund the vital costs for this important new MAF project - from oxygen equipment to validation flights and high frequency radio upgrades.
We need your support this Christmas to cover vital costs for PNG’s P2-WET project.
Fit for purpose
Ensure that the P2-WET is equipped and maintained for this unique environment, including oxygen equipment for safe travel at high altitudes.
Life-saving care
Help our partners provide strategic healthcare and education in remote communities.
Accessibility to remote regions
Provide unprecedented access, connection and help in times of need.
Your gift will:
Bring hope, help and healing to some of the most remote communities in the world.
Reaching communities in Lake Murray, PNG.
Help change these alarming statistics.
PNG has less than
400 doctors
and only about 50 of those work outside Port Moresby.
The plane can bring health workers in and move people quickly to hospital.
1 in 13 children
in PNG die before the age of 5, primarily due to preventable conditions.
The plane can deliver more vaccines and antibiotics, more often, to more people.
40% of children
in Western Province contract gastro-intestinal diseases. The infection rate is much higher than the national average.
The plane can bring in clean water infrastructure and sanitisation education programs.
An amphibious plane means life-changing
hope for the people of Lake Murray, PNG.
Our fundraising goal for MAF Australian supporters is
to help unlock hope for thousands of people by transforming one lake into many airstrips.
