* This donation is tax deductible
Why are some donations tax deductible and others not?
Gifts or sponsorship to support the relief work of MAF International (ABN 32 004 260 860) in Australia, made through the MAF Aid Fund (ABN 49 498 842 455), are tax deductible.
Not tax deductible
Tax deductibility on donations is only allowable by the Australian Tax Office in respect of approved relief and development activities. For this reason, tax deductibility is not available for sponsorship of staff working for ACMA (Australian Centre for Mission Aviation), CRMF, MAF Canada, MAF USA and MAF Australia (Sydney), nor for support of evangelistic outreach and other non-qualifying activities. Donations to CRMF are treated as 'non-development' and do not qualify for tax deductibility.
Luke had the desire to be a pilot from a very young age. Soon after beginning flight training, Luke discovered how he could use his gifts to serve God through mission aviation. A short trip up to Arnhem Land in 2009 with a work team helping out on the new hangar confirmed Luke’s desire to work with MAF.
Catherine has been on a couple of short-term mission trips to the Philippines. During one of these mission trips Catherine developed a desire to use her skills as a speech pathologist in a country where access to speech pathology services is limited or non-existent. When she met Luke in Ballarat in 2010 and discovered his desire to serve God through mission aviation, she also felt called to join him in long-term mission service.
Luke and Catherine were married in March 2012 and joined the MAF PNG program in May 2013. Luke and Catherine currently live in Rumginae where Luke is serving as a pilot and Catherine provides voluntary speech pathology services, is involved in Bible studies, women’s ministries, and other various activities in the local community.
They both value the ministry opportunity of delivering relief and development to remote people in Jesus’ name.
I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.JOHN 10:10B
