James & Ruth Mollenhauer
* This donation is tax deductible
Why are some donations tax deductible and others not?
Gifts or sponsorship to support the relief work of MAF International (ABN 32 004 260 860) in Australia, made through the MAF Aid Fund (ABN 49 498 842 455), are tax deductible.
Not tax deductible
Tax deductibility on donations is only allowable by the Australian Tax Office in respect of approved relief and development activities. For this reason, tax deductibility is not available for sponsorship of staff working for ACMA (Australian Centre for Mission Aviation), CRMF, MAF Canada, MAF USA and MAF Australia (Sydney), nor for support of evangelistic outreach and other non-qualifying activities. Donations to CRMF are treated as 'non-development' and do not qualify for tax deductibility.
While their family were young, James and Ruth served in PNG with CRMF (now MAF Technology Services). Desiring to return to cross cultural mission, they have spent the last two years in the MAF South Sudan Programme. James is the Facilities Manager, and has the responsibility for a team of 12 MAF maintenance staff, who together look after housing, work spaces, vehicles, utilities and security services. He is also involved in the establishment of MAF Technology services in South Sudan.
South Sudan is a country recovering from generations of war. Recent decades have left a country with very little infrastructure and great need for committed friends to help build this nation. MAF provides Air Transport and Technology Services to Missions, Churches and NGO’s working in remote parts of the country. In this young nation, James and Ruth enjoy many opportunities training South Sudanese and working alongside them. Ruth uses her nursing skills in two clinics and has regular opportunities for teaching English and Bible to children and young adults. They are both involved in the small local church in the village where they live and James works with the young men responsible for leading the English service.
James and Ruth feel privileged to have the freedom to share and show God’s love in South Sudan. They value your prayers as they return to serve the Lord with MAF in Juba.
