The Story

Since joining Glen and MAF in PNG in January 2010, Godfrey has re-established himself back in the land of his birth.  He started his Training and Development role in mid-2010 and helped to adapt some ground staff courses to suit PNG learning styles, while also enjoying some ‘bush’ ministry opportunities.  In November 2012 he was appointed Program Manager for MAF-PNG, and seeks to serve the team in PNG through his relational leadership and creative disposition.

The first introduction to MAF for Glen was serving in Bougainville with MAF’s BougAir program from 1971 to 1974.  After 10 years in PNG she and her family left for a rural life in central Victoria.

Glen re-joined MAF as a widow in August 2005, as Admin Manager and then General Manager at Mareeba in QLD, and then was appointed HR Manager in PNG in early 2008.  She met Godfrey on one of his visits to PNG and they were married in 2009.  Recently Glen has taken on the newly established Communications Officer role with great enthusiasm.  She collates, edits and writes stories about MAF’s work in PNG and sends these and other information to the MAF world to share.

Together Godfrey and Glen have grown into a strong working team in MAF.  The elevated demands of their new roles have caused them to rely more heavily on the Lord.  Having family and roots in PNG, New Zealand and Australia is both a blessing and a challenge as they spread their loyalties and visits during their breaks.

Glen & Godfrey Sim are members of MAF NZ.

May the God of peace, …… equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ.
