Short Term Facilities Manager, Arnhem Land
From time to time, short term opportunities become available serving in one of our programs.
We now have a critical need for a short-term Facilities Manager in Arnhem Land. In this role you will oversee the properties and vehicles owned and leased by MAF and ensure their maintenance. This includes all properties such as MAF hangars, homes, and workspaces, as well as all vehicles other than program aircraft. This role is a short-term salaried role for 3-12 months and is available for someone with a trade qualification and experience in a similar role.
Arnhem Land is a historical region of the Northern Territory of Australia. It is also a vast wilderness area, defined by rocky escarpments, gorges, rivers and waterfalls. MAF has served the people in Arnhem Land for over 45 years by sharing God’s love through aviation and technology.
As the short-term Facilities Manager for Arnhem Land, your role will be to coordinate the property maintenance work of up to 19 houses (including the grounds), hangars, workspaces and other buildings that are owned and leased by MAF in East Arnhem Land. This coordination will be done in liaison with the Program Director and according to priority. The role also requires you to oversee and arrange contractors and work parties, ensure any work done complies with local codes of practice and building regulations. The general upkeep of equipment and tools used for property maintenance is also a requirement.
You will also work with the Program Director in the setting and monitoring of the property maintenance budget, ensures that we are utilising resources as efficiently and effectively as possible, is an essential part of this role. Ensuring all work is carried out to a quality standard and in an efficient and effective professional way is crucial.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Current working rights for Australia
You must have a building trade qualifications and licences
At least 3 years of experience in your licenced building trade
At least 2 years of building project management experience
Cross cultural experience
Be willing to travel and temporarily live in Aboriginal communities where MAF staff work and be sensitive to the Aboriginal culture
