Short Term Experienced Mission Pilot – Tanzania

We have an urgent need for an experienced Mission Pilot with C206 experience on a short-term basis to enable us to continue our high impact flying Tanzania.

This will be for up to 3 months at a time.

As will all our Mission Pilot positions we require someone who is flexible in supporting our Tanzania programme and its operations by fulfilling multiple responsibilities by supporting the effectiveness and efficiency of the programme through undertaking Operational, Quality and Safety roles on a routine basis.

You will provide a professional aviation service which is customer focussed and conducted in accordance with MAF procedures and liaise with operations during the planning and booking processes.

You will also participate in MAF’s quality and safety management systems

To ensure you are available for flying duties it is your responsibility to maintain the following:

Flying qualifications in accordance with MAF and national regulations.
National licensing.
Medical requirements.
Compliance with national and MAF flight and duty times requirements.
Report for duty adequately rested and prepared for flight.

To assist with operational efficiency, effectiveness and safety of the programme by:

Undertaking, when requested by the Line Manager, the role and responsibilities of managing and overseeing
part or whole of the Flight Operations Department.
Ensuring good stewardship of resources is exercised throughout operations so that people, material and
finances are properly utilised.
Participating in ground based support functions e.g. Quality, Security, Safety, Maintaining aircraft in flight
documentation etc.

You will be willing to be trained for other roles in the programme that will enhance the efficiency, effectiveness and safety of the operations as requested by the PM. This could be undertaking the role of programme Safety and or Quality Manager when requested by the Line Manager

To maintain and improve personal professional standards by:

Participating in and ensuring timely completion of CPD modules.
Completing the proficiency flight checks required by MAF regulations.
Participating in MAF organised training events as required.
Reviewing internally and externally published aviation safety and training material.
Undertaking further training and upgrade courses as requested by programme management e.g. Check Pilot
or Marginal Airstrip Training.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

ICAO Commercial Pilots License with instrument rating
Aviation Medical – Class 1
Minimum English proficiency level 4
C206 experience
Minimum 500 flight hours including 300 hours PIC
Demonstrated proficiency in and knowledge of aircraft
performance and loading, aerodynamics, aircraft
systems, weather, aircraft instrumentation, crew/cockpit
resource management, pilot decision making, safety
and quality systems


Experience and recent proficiency in the operation of small
aircraft to CPL standards
Some experience of working in commercial or corporate aviation (highly recommended)
IFR Operations
