Short Term Experienced Mission Pilot – Balimo PNG
Come fly in beautiful Balimo!!
Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is an organisation using light aircraft to deliver help, hope and healing through aviation in over 30 developing countries. For over 75 years, MAF has been transporting patients, relief workers, produce and medical supplies to the world’s remotest regions and places of deepest human need – places where flying is not a luxury but a lifeline.
We operate in Papua New Guinea, which is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world. Only 18 percent of its population live in urban centres. The majority live in very remote areas with little or no transportation options. MAF PNG is one of our biggest programs where we support local infrastructure and logistics surrounding missions. From life-saving medical evacuations to transporting essential supplies. MAF transforms the lives of the people of this country physically and spiritually.
We now require an experienced mission pilot to join us in supporting the Sustainable Development Program in Balimo. This fast-paced flying role will help us reach isolated communities, flying to some of the most remote airstrips and often in changeable weather conditions. Being a MAF Pilot is one of the most demanding yet one of the most satisfying roles there is! Are you up for the challenge?
For this remote role, you will need to have an extensive set of skills – the ability to anticipate changes and solve problems effectively and efficiently. You will also safely and efficiently operate MAF aircraft in accordance with company policies and procedures. You will be expected to provide mentoring to low hour pilots and help in coordinating base operations.
Your role will be to actively embrace your flying duties by maintaining flying qualifications in accordance with MAF and national regulations. You will have a pro-active approach to the role- ensuring national licensing and medical requirements are met. Be prepared to work flexibly as part of a team as you will assist with operational efficiency, effectiveness and safety of the program.
You will be expected to maintain and improve personal professional standard by participating in necessary training and completing relevant modules. You will also be tasked to undertake all duties commensurate with the role.
