Short-term Accountant, Cairns
MAF has a part-time 13 month maternity cover contract that we are offering to the right person. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a team that will have a life changing impact on those we serve.
The Accountant will have day to day responsibilities for the Cairns Support Office (CSO) accounting function and provide direct and centralised accounting support to MAF Programmes and departments.
This role includes overseeing the work of the CSO Finance Officer, maintaining financial relationships with suppliers and customers, authorising payments and managing sales and purchase ledger accounts. The role also involves managing the nominal ledger and preparing monthly reconciliations and management accounts.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Excellent communication skills with a working knowledge of MS Excel are essential for the role. Applicants will be qualified to degree level, hold a recognised professional accounting qualification and have at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience.

This is a part-time role, starting 1 March. 15-20 hours per week are offered based in our Cairns Support Office.
