Operations Manager – Arnhem Land
Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is an organisation using light aircraft to deliver help, hope and healing in over 30 developing countries. For more than 75 years, MAF has been transporting patients, relief workers, produce and medical supplies to the world’s remotest regions and places of deepest human need – places where flying is not a luxury but a lifeline.
One of these places is Arnhem Land, a historical region of the Northern Territory of Australia. It is also a vast wilderness area, defined by rocky escarpments, gorges, rivers and waterfalls. MAF has served the people in Arnhem Land for over 45 years by sharing God’s love through aviation and technology. To continue providing this valuable service we need a Operations Manager.
In this role, you will work closely with the Programme Director as you manage the day to day running of ground and flight support systems and associated staff. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our MAF Arnhem Land team and make a difference to the isolated communities we serve.
As Operations Manager for the Arnhem Land Programme, you will ensure safe and efficient use of resources by managing flight operations, rostering pilots, maintaining an updated maintenance schedule, and continuing to ensure good working relationships with customers so that operations are customer focused and ministry is effective.
In this role, you will maintain an effective systems of bookings, freight, passenger handling and operations while liaising with various departments and the Head of Flight Operations to ensure excellent communication and delivery of services.
In addition, you will effectively manage the Operations Team which ensures that MAF standards and procedures are applied across operations in Arnhem Land. You will assist the Programme Director and participate in the Quality and Safety Management systems as required, as well as ensuring that all members of the Operations Teams are trained, proficient and given opportunities for personal development.
The successful candidate will need to be methodical, able to follow procedures and instructions as required and work well as part of a team.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Year 12 graduate
Minimum two year experience in aviation operations or related field
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Able to work alone and be, analytical, competent, congenial, cooperative, courageous, decisive, diplomatic, efficient, honest, industrious, level-headed, observant, open-minded, orderly, patient, persistent, punctual and resourceful
Management or Business Diploma
