MAF Legal Services is seeking a Legal Support Officer to join the team. The legal service function provides MAF International and its related bodies corporate (MAF) with legal research, drafting and document creation, administrative assistance, filing and general legal support services as required from time to time.
MAF International (Mission Aviation Fellowship) is a global organisation using light aircraft to deliver help, hope and healing in Jesus’ name in over 30 developing countries. For more than 75 years, MAF has been transporting patients, relief workers, produce and medical supplies to the world’s remotest regions and places of deepest human need – places where flying is not a luxury but a lifeline.

**NOTE: Applicants must have the legal right to work in either Australia or the UK. We are currently offering 10 hours per week, however, there is possibly scope for more in the future.
Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include reviewing and editing documents, correspondence, internal policy and procedure documents, reports and legal documents. Assisting with research regarding international legislation, and compliance contexts, aiding in the preparation of written policy and other communications relating to MAF’s program and support department activities.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Tertiary studies (or above) at certificate or diploma level relevant to paralegal support, justice or legal administration and research
- Previous experience working in a legal practice or legal service
- Good general knowledge of the legal system in Australia
- Basic legal drafting
- Previous experience working in charities or mission contexts
- Strong written communication skills
Desirable:
- Degree in law
- Previous legal practice experience
- Experience working with legal and statutory structures in the developing world
