Head of Delivery, MAF Flight Training Centre, Mareeba

Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is a unique organisation using aircraft to deliver help, hope and healing across the developing world. Our flight training centre in Mareeba, Australia is part of MAF International’s Flight Operations, Standards and Training Department and focuses on great delivery of flight training in order to graduate highly competent MAF candidates, PNG national pilots and other future pilots. It also supports MAF programs in the Asia-Pacific region with operational training.

We have an exciting opportunity for a professional to manage the delivery of flight training at the Training Centre. The right candidate for this role will be open to learning, enjoy leading and developing others, and have excellent communication and written skills.

The role includes managing day-to-day operations, ensuring on-time delivery of flight training and liaising with a variety of stakeholders and customers of the MAF Training Centre. This includes MAF Programs, Aviation Australia, CQ University, various MAF Departments such as the worldwide Flight Operations Department, Recruitment, Human Resources and Legal and other flight training providers.

You will ensure efficient operations by scheduling aircraft, instructors, and students to maximise output and performance. In close partnership with the Head of Training, you will keep things moving, aiming for the best training outcomes in line with the vision of MAF International. You will also manage the operational and administrative teams.

The ideal candidate will have great communication skills, the ability to lead others and to fit well in a team. Knowledge of CASA regulations is highly desirable as well as knowledge of MAF operations, or the ability to adapt quickly to working in a large multi-national mission aviation organisation. Other desirable qualities include experience in project management and implementing the vision.
