– ensure all aircraft are maintained in accordance with applicable standards, regulations and safety policies. This will include making sure all parts that are used in the maintenance of the aircraft are sourced from approved suppliers and have been accepted in accordance with receipt procedures. All aviation maintenance work must be certified by a licensed member of staff.
– support the effective performance, training and development of all aviation maintenance staff to develop and communicate a clear sense of vision and purpose;
and continue to encourage the improvement of professional standards. This will be done through developing engineering training plans, providing regular feedback and mentoring.
– manage the effective and efficient use of resources by the maintenance department through:
supporting the program management in the development of their plans,
ensuring the hangar and all aircraft support equipment is maintained according to the relevant schedule, and that all tools are functional and within calibration intervals.
– control the completion, storage, retrieval and reporting of all technical records generated in the course of inspection and maintenance activities. All personal records of training, company approvals, licensing and other certifications must be kept up-to date.
-actively engage in the Quality and Safety Management systems liaising with the Quality Manager to effect timely corrective actions in response to non-conformity reports and provide assistance to Quality and Safety Auditors as required.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Secondary School completion certificate
Completion of approved aircraft maintenance engineer pre-employment course
ICAO Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence without type rating
5 years of aviation maintenance experience (can be concurrent with obtaining licence)
Team management experience
Aptitude in verbal, non-verbal, numerical and mechanical reasoning
Knowledge of Human Factors in Aviation Maintenance
Knowledge of Health and Safety principles
Must be versatile, self-starting and strategically minded.
National aircraft maintenance engineer Licence, as required
Turbine or reciprocating engine experience as appropriate
Aircraft and engine type courses, as appropriate
Experience of budgeting and financial control systems
