In Uganda we enable NGOs to provide education, assist victims of violence, provide training in farming techniques, reduce incidents of domestic violence and HIV and help people earn an income through carpentry and sewing. Needless to say, we're kept busy!

The Challenge

Despite making enormous progress in reducing poverty right across the country, Uganda relies heavily on the support of foreign aid. Although the south returned to normality, roads in the north remain dangerous due to banditry and rebel activity. During the rainy season, vulnerable communities are cut off as the roads become impassable. Uganda is subject to armed fighting among hostile ethnic groups, rebels, armed gangs, militias, and various government forces that extend across its borders.

Our Operation

Development Work:

MAF flights make areas plagued by rebel activity and insecurity accessible. Our flights operate throughout the north, as well as to the under-developed Karamoja region in the northeast. We enable NGOs to provide education, assist victims of violence, provide training in farming techniques, reduce incidents of domestic violence and HIV and help people earn an income through carpentry and sewing.

Evangelical Work:

In Uganda MAF works with partners to bring the Good news of the Gospel to those in isolated regions, including showing the Jesus Film in the places we serve.
