Media Release: MAF Australia and Endeavour Christian College launch new educational flight partnership.

How many of us dreamed of becoming a pilot as a child? For the students of Endeavour Christian College in Cooktown, this is not just a dream.

After a number of current students expressed their interest in pursuing flying as a career, Principal Peter Connell sought out Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) Australia to establish a partnership.

The partnership will mean that MAF Australia will connect the students to pilots and engineers that are working in some of the most remote communities on Earth as part of a program to understand what life as a pilot looks like first hand.

MAF will also sponsor an annual Citizenship Award for the Student who best exemplifies the concept of Bringing Hope To Others.

To launch the partnership, on August 3rd, MAF Australia General Manager Ian McDougall and Chief Flight Instructor Andy Little will be flying the brand new Cessna 182 Training Plane to Cooktown to formalise the partnership and speak with the school Community on MAF and Missionary as a career.

The event is open to the community and local media, so if you’d like to join us for the event to support this innovative educational partnership, please contact Matthew McBurney.

Details of the event:

They will land at approx. 11am at Cooktown Airport, and Daintree Air have very kindly allowed them to use the brand new hanger they have built at Cooktown to show the plane to all in attendance.

They will then tour Endeavour Christian College and then depart at approx. 1.30pm
